La Casona Del Cielo

Overview

If you’re ever driving down US-101 near Laytonville, CA, there’s a gem of a place that you shouldn’t miss-La Casona Del Cielo. Located at 44400 US-101, this restaurant combines the warmth of a cozy diner with the flair of authentic, home-cooked meals. The moment you step inside, it feels like you’ve entered a place where friends and family gather to share great food and even better stories.

The menu at La Casona Del Cielo is a wonderful reflection of the diverse flavors that Southern California offers. From hearty breakfasts to satisfying dinners, there's something for every craving. One of the standout dishes is their “Chilaquiles,” which are a traditional Mexican breakfast dish made with fried tortilla chips smothered in green or red sauce, topped with a generous helping of eggs, cheese, and sour cream. It’s the perfect comfort food to kickstart your day. And if you’re a fan of spice, their version adds just the right amount of heat to wake up your senses.

If you’re more in the mood for lunch or dinner, La Casona Del Cielo offers a wide variety of options that highlight the flavors of the region. The “Carne Asada” is a favorite among regulars-juicy, grilled beef served with rice, beans, and tortillas. It’s simple, but the quality of the meat and the seasoning really make it stand out. The salsa that accompanies the dish is worth mentioning too; it’s fresh, tangy, and adds the perfect kick.

For those who prefer something a bit lighter, you can’t go wrong with their salads. The “Grilled Chicken Salad” is fresh, light, and topped with a zesty vinaigrette that perfectly complements the smoky grilled chicken. It's the kind of meal that feels both satisfying and healthy.

What truly sets La Casona Del Cielo apart isn’t just the food, but the experience. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel like you’re part of the family the moment you walk through the door. Whether you're stopping in for a quick bite or settling in for a long meal with friends, the atmosphere is always warm and inviting. You can easily see why so many locals keep coming back time and time again.

Moreover, their desserts are something special. Don’t leave without trying their homemade flan. It’s rich, creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness. It pairs beautifully with a cup of freshly brewed coffee, making for a perfect end to any meal.

A trip to La Casona Del Cielo is an experience that’s more than just about eating-it’s about enjoying good food in a place that feels like home. The restaurant's location near the freeway makes it a perfect stop for travelers, but once you taste the food and feel the hospitality, you might just want to make it a regular pit stop.

While the menu features traditional Mexican dishes, it’s clear that the kitchen at La Casona Del Cielo goes above and beyond to bring in fresh ingredients and high-quality products. It’s not just about filling your stomach-it’s about enjoying a meal that’s made with care and attention to detail. Every bite is a testament to the skill and passion of the chefs who pour their heart into each dish.

We were so impressed with this place! The food was fresh and absolutely delicious. We got flautas, enchiladas, and guacamole. The salsas are bomb. The patio is really nice with a large covered section, lots of plants, and is dog friendly! The folks who run it are lovely. It's not fast, but it's worth the wait!

Stopped here by chance while passing though laytonville. I heard the live music, turns out it was a band called Blue Luke trio. They were so good, I later learned I guess they've toured with some pretty big names. Dustin the bartender and the restaurants owner really helped me out and we're super welcoming. Had some beers and enjoyed the band. Hung out with some cool locals here enjoying the night as well. Freaking awesome place and awesome people

Great food and service. You can't be in a hurry, as all items are made to order. They are occasionally out of some of the menu as well. The chilli verde and pozole are as good as you will get anywhere.

Small town on 101. Stopped there on way to Eureka and Avenue of the Giants. The lady was very nice. Quick service. The burrito was good. Nice lemon inside. Though I don't think I have ever had broccoli and carrots inside a burrito.

We dropped in late Saturday night after driving Ave of Giants. We were still an hour to our hotel. They kicked in the grill and made two of the tastiest quesadillas. Thanks guys! You really saved the evening!
